The “Moments of 18” main cast of Ong Seong Wu, Kim Hyang Gi, Shin Seung Ho, and Kang Ki Young have each shared what they find to be the drama’s most captivating points!

“Moments of 18” is an emotional youth drama that accurately depicts the awkward and difficult lives of young adults. This extremely relatable story will describe the feelings of being 18, like how easy it is to overthink small things and deeply remember seemingly insignificant events.

In his drama debut, idol-turned-actor Ong Seong Wu will play the extremely lonely yet very tough Choi Joon Woo. Regarding his new chapter in life, he shared, “As this was not a simple challenge to attempt, but a road I spent a long time dreaming of, I filmed with a serious mindset.”

He continued, “18 is an age we all must endure and all have endured. Please look forward to the thoughts and experiences that can only occur at that age, and the precious moments that turn 18-year-olds into adults. ‘Moments of 18,’ a youth story to make this summer warmer, is finally premiering on July 22. Please look forward to it and give it lots of attention and support, and please give Joon Woo lots of love.”

In Kim Hyang Gi’s first drama in four years, she plays top student Yoo Soo Bin, who dreams of independence. She picked the connections between all the characters as the drama’s main point, explaining, “Please look forward to the relationships formed when new student Choi Joon Woo transfers to our school, and how various situations arise through them. We are working very hard during the filming. I hope everyone enjoys it.”

Shin Seung Ho plans to showcase more mature acting through his character Ma Hwi Young, a student who is seemingly perfect but deep down he is very insecure and dark. He shared, “[This drama] draws the story of how lacking young adults mature and develop. It deals with love and friendship, jealousy and envy, school and careers, and other realistic concerns that exist all around us every day in a sweet but deep manner.”

He added, “I think the light rivalry between Hwi Young and Joon Woo will be engaging to watch. Please also look forward to not only the students’ maturation but the development of their parents and teachers too. I believe this drama will be both fun and emotional at the same time. Please watch it.”

Kang Ki Young holds the balance for the drama as the young and spontaneous teacher Oh Han Kyul. Although still inexperienced, expectations are rising for his emotional and moving character development as he plays the lone adult his students look up to, who approaches and converses with them in a sincere, relatable way.

The actor shared, “As I look back after becoming an adult, I can’t help but think that we live in a generation that expects youth to act more like adults than adults themselves, when we should really be treasuring them more for their lack of experience. This is a drama I want to recommend to people who want to hear, ‘The way you are now is lovely and precious enough,’ and to people who live to sacrifice their current happiness in order for their future happiness. Please watch ‘Moments of 18,’ a drama where both children and adults continue to develop.”

JTBC’s “Moments of 18” premieres on July 22 at 9:30 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
