Ong Seong Wu Talks About Support From Wanna One And Promoting Alone

On July 22, Ong Seong Wu attended the press conference for JTBC’s “Moments of 18” where he talked about support from Wanna One.

“Moments of 18” is an emotional drama that will accurately depict the awkward and difficult lives of young adults. The drama will describe the feelings of being 18, such as how easy it is to overthink small things and deeply remember seemingly insignificant events. Ong Seong Wu will be playing the lonely yet tough transfer student Choi Joon Woo.

During the press conference, Ong Seong Wu talked about Wanna One’s reaction to his upcoming drama. Ong Seong Wu shared, “When a teaser [for the drama] comes out, they say, ‘I saw the teaser. I’ll watch the original broadcast because it looks good.’ I also always try to watch Park Ji Hoon’s broadcasts when he’s on [television].”

The actor also shared how it felt to promote without Wanna One. He said, “While promoting alone, I first felt lonely. Since I expressed emotions comfortably when I was with the members, I thought that I was lonely because of the things I had to hold back and keep inside, but honestly, while acting, I think I utilized the [emotions] I had kept inside well.”

He continued, “I felt that that kind of loneliness and emotions helped me to approach the character Choi Joon Woo, so eventually, I accepted the loneliness and used it.”

“Moments of 18” premieres on July 22 at 9:30 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
