The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards have announced new categories ahead of the ceremony, including Best Group. Both BTS and BLACKPINK are up for the award!

Their fellow nominees are 5 Seconds of Summer, Backstreet Boys, CNCO, Jonas Brothers, PRETTYMUCH, and Why Don’t We.

Voting began on August 19 local time and will be held for the next 24 hours via MTV’s Instagram stories.

The nominees have been announced for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards! BTS has received four nominations, and a new Best K-pop MV category was also revealed.

BTS’s “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey has been nominated for awards in the categories of Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Choreography, and Best K-pop.

The nominees for Best Collaboration are: Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road (Remix)” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow,” Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita,” Taylor Swift’s “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care, and BTS’s “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey.

Music videos that were nominated for Best Art Direction are: BTS’s “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey, Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings,” Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road (Remix)” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita,” Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down,” and Kanye West and Lil’ Pump’s “I Love It” featuring Adele Givens. JinSil Park and BoNa Kim of MU:E have been nominated for the art direction of “Boy With Luv.”

Best Choreography nominations have gone to FKA twigs’s “Cellophane”; ROSALÍA and J Balvin’s “Con Altura” featuring El Guincho; LSD’s “No New Friends” featuring Labrinth, Sia, and Diplo; Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita”; Solange’s “Almeda”; and BTS’s “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey. Choreographer Rie Hata is up for the award for the “Boy With Luv” choreography.

Nominees in the new Best K-pop category are BTS’s “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love,” EXO’s “Tempo,” MONSTA X’s “Who Do U Love” featuring French Montana, NCT 127’s “Regular,” and TXT’s “Cat & Dog.”

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 26 at the Prudential Center in New Jersey and you can vote online here.
