Chun Woo Hee Describes Unique "Melo Is My Nature" Character + Why Being Ordinary Is Perfect For An Actress
Chun Woo Hee has shared her thoughts on her personality and her upcoming drama.
On July 25, GQ Korea released photos from a pictorial where the actress showcased various looks that highlighted her face and aura.
In the accompanying interview, Chun Woo Hee said, “I’m an ordinary person. I’m easygoing without any unique preferences or likes and dislikes. That might possibly be why I began to like acting because I can show a completely different appearance through acting.”
The actress also spoke about how she was able to portray terrifying roles such as Ryun Hwa Na in the movie “Idol” and Moomyung in the movie “The Wailing” because she grew up in a happy family as a daughter who never got into trouble. “I felt free because a different side came out when I acted,” explained Chun Woo Hee. “I guess you could say that I had a curiosity about wanting to explore things I had never experienced and that were the total opposite of me. I’m glad that was done through acting. I think the job of an actress is perfect for me.”
As for her character Im Jin Joo in the upcoming JTBC drama “Melo Is My Nature,” Chun Woo Hee revealed, “She’s beyond vibrant and is full of silliness. I hope you’ll view me in a completely different way. Until now, I portrayed roles that were more withdrawn and acted with my facial expressions and eyes. But this time, I do everything with words. At first, I wondered how I could do this, but I’m enjoying it even more now.”
“Melo Is My Nature” is a romantic comedy drama about three women in their 30s and the struggles of their romantic and personal lives. The drama premieres on August 9 at 10:50 p.m. KST, and will be available on Viki with English subtitles!
