"I Wanna Hear Your Song" Writer Shares What Viewers Can Look Forward To From Kim Sejeong And Yeon Woo Jin

The writer of KBS 2TV’s “I Wanna Hear Your Song” has shared her thoughts on the upcoming drama!

“I Wanna Hear Your Song” is a new mystery romantic comedy about a timpanist named Hong Yi Young (played by gugudan’s Kim Sejeong), who loses all her memories of the night of a murder. After encountering a suspicious tone-deaf man named Jang Yoon (played by Yeon Woo Jin), she sets out on a quest to discover the truth.

Describing the upcoming drama, writer Kim Min Joo remarked, “It’s a story about young men and women who suddenly come face-to-face with hardship, then find a way to move past the hard times that they were stuck in—and also start to find love.”

Kim Min Joo went on to reveal that she hoped the drama would become a positive influence and a source of inspiration for young men and women who were facing their own struggles. “I wrote the drama while hoping that it would help this young generation find the courage to take a step forward and overcome their difficult pasts and realities,” she explained.

As for the drama’s unique genre, the writer commented, “I call it a ‘mystery thriller disguised as a romantic comedy.’ I’m working hard to make sure that while it plays up the fun aspects of a rom-com, it never loses the suspenseful excitement of a thriller. At the end of each episode, I want to leave the drama’s viewers with an intriguing question.”

Finally, Kim Min Joo praised the memorable performances of stars Kim Sejeong and Yeon Woo Jin, teasing that viewers were in for a special treat. “Please look forward to Yeon Woo Jin’s singing, which will leave viewers dumbfounded,” she joked, “as well as the darkness hidden behind Kim Sejeong’s bright exterior.”
