Watch: Kim Sejeong, Jiyeon, Song Jae Rim, And More Show Off Their Musical Expertise In “I Wanna Hear Your Song” Making Video
KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “I Wanna Hear Your Song” has released a new making video of the actors having a blast while hard at work!
“I Wanna Hear Your Song” is a mystery romantic comedy that follows timpanist Hong Yi Young (played by gugudan’s Kim Sejeong), who loses her memory of a gruesome murder, and her run-in with the suspicious tone-deaf man Jang Yoon (played by Yeon Woo Jin).
The making video starts off with Kim Sejeong showing off her sheet music while explaining, “Today, we finally get to play Berlioz’s song, the first song I learned! This is the sheet music for Berlioz’s song that I practiced with. There are two timpani in the song. Michael Lee (played by Yoo Gun) and I take turns playing.”
The video then shows Jo Yoo Jung and Song Jae Rim talking about the sheet music when Jo Yoo Jung says with surprise, “You know it pretty well.” Song Jae Rim responds jokingly, “What do you take Uncle for?” and when Yoo Gun appears, he asks, “Aren’t we uncles [to Jo Yoo Jung] at our age?” to which Yoo Gun agrees. The video also briefly shows how much musical knowledge the actors have with Song Jae Rim practicing his conducting and Yoo Gun tuning the timpani.
Eventually, Kim Sejeong shows up with snacks, which she happily shares with Yoo Gun. Meanwhile, T-ara’s Jiyeon pretends to conduct like Song Jae Rim, causing him to get up to playfully bother her. She shouts, “You always only bother me!” Song Jae Rim continues to showcase his playful attitude as he jokes around with Kim Sejeong before filming. Kim Sejeong compliments her teacher for being prettier than her, showcasing the great vibe on set.
When the actors finally start playing their instruments, Jiyeon is excited and relieved to hear compliments for her violin playing. She shows off the personal sheet music she created for herself, explaining that she memorized the music in her own way because she can’t read the actual sheet music. Jiyeon’s co-stars continue to tell her that if she can make her own method of memorizing the music, which is even more complicated than the original, she’ll be able to play very well.
“I Wanna Hear Your Voice” premieres on August 5 at 10 p.m. and will be available on Viki with English subtitles. Watch the full making video below!
