JBJ95 Shares What Advice They Would Give To A Potential "Produce X 101" Spinoff Group

On August 6, JBJ95 held a showcase for their third mini album, “Spark.”

Both members of JBJ95 competed on “Produce 101 Season 2.” While they did not make it into the final lineup (Wanna One), they were included as part of a spinoff group, JBJ, created through fan support. After JBJ disbanded, the two members formed the duo JBJ95. Earlier this year, Sanggyun moved to Kenta’s agency, meaning that the duo would be managed exclusively by Star Road Entertainment.

Sanggyun referenced the move during the showcase, saying, “This is the first time I will be promoting after I moved. There isn’t much that has changed, but it’s definitely more stable to be managed by one company rather than two. We were able to achieve this result through the respect of both agencies.”

Because of JBJ95’s history, they were asked about the potential “Produce X 101” spinoff group, named “BY9” by fans.

Kenta said, “We were grateful for the opportunity to be on TV through ‘Produce 101 Season 2.’ If that show did not exist, we would not be where we are today, so we’re sincerely grateful. It was not an easy time, but you can gain more from going through difficulties. I thought a lot during my time on the show, and the thought that came up was, ‘Don’t give up.’ I got to where I am today by believing in myself, so I want to say to the trainees that if they keep working hard without giving up, a good result may follow.”

Sanggyun said, “When I was promoting as part of JBJ, I thought that being able to promote stably for a long time is really important to fans. I’m grateful that our agency has allowed us to do that. The group began through fan support, so I think it’s important to promote with them in mind. That is the driving force of promotions. You cannot forget your beginnings as an audition program contestant who has become successful through the interest and love of fans.”
