BTS Receives Double Million + Double Platinum Certifications From Gaon; TWICE, MAMAMOO's Hwasa, And More Certified Platinum

Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official certifications!

Last year, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a brand-new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.

On August 8, Gaon Chart announced that BTS’s 2018 studio album “Love Yourself: Tear” had sold over 2 million copies, making it the group’s third album to receive an official double-million certification. BTS also received a double-platinum certification for the BTS WORLD OST, which has sold over 500,000 copies since its release on June 28.

Meanwhile, in the streaming category, BTS’s “IDOL,” TWICE’s “YES or YES,” and Ben‘s “180 Degrees” all received official platinum certifications after surpassing 100 million streams each. Loco and MAMAMOO’s Hwasa also received an official platinum certification in the download category for their hit collaboration “Don’t.”

Congratulations to all of the artists on their impressive achievements!
