“A-TEEN” Actor Ryu Ui Hyun Cast In First Lead Role In Upcoming Movie
Actor Ryu Ui Hyun has been cast as the lead in a film!
On August 9, Wayz Company confirmed that Ryu Ui Hyun will be playing Park Gun, a leading character in the upcoming movie “Flatterers” (literal title). The movie is based on a Naver webtoon of the same name and will be directed by Hwang Seung Jae.
“Flatterers” tells the story of various quirky high school students who relate to each other while navigating their school lives. Park Gun is a student who transfers to a countryside school and becomes the subordinate to his older classmates.
Ryu Ui Hyun’s agency stated, “As this is Ryu Ui Hyun’s first lead role, he is anticipating it highly. He is attending action school and steadily preparing for the film in various ways. We are happy that Ryu Ui Hyun can show a new side of himself through this new character.”
Ryu Ui Hyun is known for appearing in the popular web drama “A-TEEN” (as well as its second season) as the quirky but honest Cha Ki Hyun. He has also been cast in a supporting role in the upcoming KBS weekend drama “Love Is Beautiful, Life Is Wonderful” (literal title).
The film “Flatterers” will begin filming in mid-August and will premiere sometime in 2020.
