Main Vocalist Of Boy Group Touches Hearts With His Sweet Voice On "The King Of Mask Singer"

The identity of contestant Astronaut was revealed on the latest episode of MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer”!

During the August 11 episode of the singing competition, Astronaut faced off against contestant Kingtralopithecus in the final battle of the first round. Both contestants opened the battle with a duet, covering Choi Hosub’s “As Time Goes By” (literal title). Astronaut was able to impress the audience with his smooth vocals.

In the end, Kingtralopithecus won with 64 votes and advanced to the second round, while Astronaut remained on stage to reveal his face while singing Ali’s “Eraser.”

Astronaut turned out to be none other than KNK’s Inseong! After revealing his identity, Inseong revealed that he received the casting offer for the show on his birthday and remarked, “I was at home resting after filming our music video when I found out about the casting offer, so I was really happy. My parents love ‘The King of Mask Singer,’ so whenever I go home during the holidays, they ask when I’ll appear on the show. I haven’t told my mom yet, so I think she’ll be very happy.”

He continued, “It’s been three years since KNK’s debut, but we were on hiatus for a year and a half. To be honest, I often wondered if I should quit being a singer, but we were able to release a new album after deciding to try until the very end. Please check it out.”

He also added, “I sang just a line or two with the group. Because I sang while wondering when I’ll be able to sing an entire song and let people hear my voice like this, I was so happy.”

After the broadcast, Inseong shared his thoughts on social media. On Twitter, he wrote, “Astronaut on ‘The King of Mask Singer’ was me, Inseong!! It’s disappointing, but I had so much fun filming. I’m sorry I lost Tinkerbell [KNK’s fandom name].”
