"Idol Star Athletics Championships" Reveals Idol Lineup For 3 Sporting Events In Upcoming Chuseok Special

MBC’s “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships” has revealed the idol lineups for three of the seven main sporting events for this year’s Chuseok special: track-and-field, archery, and ssireum (Korean wrestling).

For the men’s 60-meter dash, Golden Child’s Y, who has taken home the gold medal two times in a row, will be returning to defend his title. Also joining in the event will be Stray Kids, SF9, VERIVERY, AB6IX, DONGKIZ, 1THE9, CIX, TREI, JBJ95, NOIR, LIMITLESS, 1TEAM, and D1CE.

The women’s 60-meter dash also features the return of the gold medalist from this year’s Lunar New Year special, HOLICS’s Yeonjeong. She will be joined by ITZY, fromis_9, Cherry Bullet, (G)I-DLE, Weki Meki, WJSN, MOMOLAND, LOONA, DreamCatcher, Berry Good, Saturday, GWSN, Nature, and EVERGLOW.

The 400-meter relay will give WJSN, the silver medalists from the Lunar New Year special, the chance at a rematch against IZ*ONE, the defending gold medalists. They will be joined by ITZY, Oh My Girl, (G)I-DLE, Weki Meki, MOMOLAND, and DreamCatcher.

The medalists from the boys’ 400-meter relay, ASTRO, Golden Child, and Stray Kids, are also returning for the event. They will be joined by SF9, ONF, PENTAGON, The Boyz, and CIX.

Archery will feature a showdown between TWICE, Oh My Girl, WJSN, and Lovelyz. The boy groups participating are NCT 127, Stray Kids, PENTAGON, and The Boyz.

Meanwhile, the groups participating in Korean wrestling, which is back after three years, are SF9, Golden Child, ONF, VERIVERY, ASTRO, AB6IX, 1THE9, CIX, ITZY, fromis_9, Cherry Bullet, Weki Meki, WJSN, and MOMOLAND.

The event, which was held on August 12, will be aired over the Chuseok holiday in Korea.
