Watch: "Section TV" Shares Sneak Peek Of "2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Chuseok Special"

MBC’s “Section TV” went behind the scenes of the upcoming “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Chuseok Special” to give viewers a sneak peak of what to expect in the upcoming competition.

Filming took place on August 12 at the Goyang Indoor Gymnasium, and anticipation is already rising as idols battle it out in categories like track and field, archery, wrestling, and even zoning out for medals and glory.

The idols expressed their determination to succeed as they were interviewed by “Section TV.” WJSN, who won a silver medal in the 400 meter relay last year said, “Our goal is for no one to get injured,” but also added, “We’re going to take first place. Everyone should be wary of us.” The members of MOMOLAND also showed confidence as they said, “First place is ours.”

Meanwhile, Haechan from NCT 127 talked about his role as a reporter for the day and joked, “I could be really professional about it, but as this is the first time I’m doing something like this in front of fans, I’m going to be a little lacking.” PENTAGON said, “This is our first time here since our debut, so we’re going to get a win.”

This year’s MCs will be Jun Hyun Moo, TWICE’s Dahyun, and Super Junior’s Leeteuk. Talking about how he’s happy to be there for the show’s tenth anniversary after being an MC for his seventh year, Jun Hyun Moo also had kind words to say about Dahyun as he said, “I was so surprised by her ad-libs. I think she has the best variety chops of all the TWICE members.”

There will be much to see from all of the matches, such as TWICE’s Dahyun, Tzuyu, and Chaeyoung dressing up in outfits inspired by the “Hunger Games” franchise as a special gift to fans. ITZY, IZ*ONE, Oh My Girl, WJSN, Lovelyz, and more showed their love whenever a member had to participate in a match alone, so much that the ITZY members even forgot to film themselves so they could cheer Yuna on during her sprint.
