Update: MAMAMOO's Wheein Unable To Attend Events Due To Health Concerns

MAMAMOO’s agency has released an update on member Wheein’s health.

Wheein was unfortunately unable to attend the 2019 Soribada Best K-Music Awards on August 22, and before the show, the following statement was shared:

Hello. This is RBW.

We are writing to inform you about the current condition of MAMAMOO member Wheein, who is unable to attend the 2019 Soribada Best K-Music Awards today.

On August 17, MAMAMOO’s Wheein was unable to join the other members on their US engagements as she experienced sudden dizziness and was feeling very unwell prior to leaving for Los Angeles. After this, she had a full examination and rested, and she has been doing her best to recover. Her examination showed that she has no external injuries but she was told that her usual anxiety and nervousness, as well as the stress due to these factors, are a bit higher than normal. Also, the doctor stated that her psychological stability is the top priority currently, and therefore after discussing with her and the members, we are letting you know that she cannot take part in today’s event.

Regardless of the reason, we apologize that this announcement is late and so the fans have been confused.

We will continue to consider Wheein’s condition to be the priority in terms of future events and discuss matters sufficiently. We aim to inform you of updates quickly through announcements.

RBW has announced that MAMAMOO’s Wheein will not be able to attend KCON 2019 LA, where the group is scheduled to perform. The other three members are still set to attend the event.

The agency posted the notice on the group’s fan cafe and their announcement reads as follows:

Hello, this is RBW.

We are writing to inform you that MAMAMOO’s Wheein will not be able to participate in KCON 2019 LA. The members of MAMAMOO were in the airport and waiting to board after going through immigration when Wheein expressed that she was suffering from sudden dizziness and was not feeling well.

She has been moved to the hospital where she has been resting and has undergone a detailed examination. Though we have not received an exact diagnosis of her condition, her dizziness has improved greatly with rest, and we are currently awaiting the results of her examination.

Wheein wishes to board a plane and attend the schedule as planned in order to keep her promise with fans, but the members and our agency were concerned that the long flight may worsen her condition and that what she needs right now is rest. Therefore, we regret to inform you that Wheein will not be participating in KCON 2019 LA.

We ask for your understanding, and we will do our best to ensure that Wheein’s condition does not worsen and that she can recover as soon as possible.
