Watch: Girl Groups Battle It Out For Ending Stage Slot In "Queendom" Pre-Release Clip

Upcoming Mnet show “Queendom” has shared an exciting pre-release clip ahead of the show’s premiere.

“Queendom” is formatted as a “comeback battle” between six female artists Park Bom, AOA, Lovelyz, MAMAMOO, Oh My Girl, and (G)I-DLE. They will release music on the same day and battle it out on the music charts.

The new clip tasks the six teams with coming up with the performance cue sheet together. They are given just 10 minutes to figure out the order that they will perform. The idols express their shock at being asked to choose the order themselves, with someone even suggesting a game of rock, paper, scissors to decide.

Everyone is vying for the ending performance, with MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul explaining, “The ending performance is usually reserved for the most popular acts,” Oh My Girl’s YooA agreeing as she says, “The hottest singers usually perform at the end,” and Lovelyz’s Kei saying, “The ending is the stage of dreams.” AOA’s Jimin says, “Sparks will fly for it.”

At first, the group’s are hesitant to change the order of performers, with no one wanting to be the first to perform. However, as they begin to move the order around one by one, the girl group members run up to protect their own group. When AOA is placed to perform first near the end of the clip, the members hesitate for a moment before Seolhyun says to her fellow members, “Oh, we can just remove all of the names before time runs out, right?”

The results of the final cue sheet will be revealed when “Queendom” premieres on August 29 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
