Watch: Seulgi, Kim Doyeon, Yeji, And More Practice Pitching For "2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships"

Ahead of MBC’s “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Chuseok Special,” a clip has been uploaded of the female idols’ baseball pitch practice!

The stars present for the practice included Cherry Bullet’s Jiwon, Berry Good’s Johyun, ITZY’s Yeji, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, Weki Meki’s Kim Doyeon, LOONA’s Heejin, and GWSN’s Lena, with IZ*ONE’s Jang Won Young also joining them for the actual competition. They were led by coaches Jung Min Chul and Bong Joong Geun, who are both former professional baseball players.

They received a brief introduction with Jung Min Chul telling them the importance of a serious facial expression and showing them how to practice using a towel. After Bong Joong Geun showed them first-hand how to throw the ball, each idol took a turn pitching.

The coaches expressed praise, encouragement, and tips after each turn, with Jung Min Chul reminding Heejin, “Out of 100 points, you lost 20. That’s because you smiled at the end.” Bong Joong Geun complimented Jiwon, saying, “You almost had the form of a professional.” As an early favorite for MVP, ITZY’s Yeji also blew everyone away with her powerful pitch.
