Watch: DAY6 Makes 1st US TV Appearance On "Good Day New York"

DAY6 made their first U.S. television appearance on “Good Day New York”!

On September 12, the band visited the set of the FOX5 morning talk show ahead of their New York concert that evening.

After the members each introduced themselves, the hosts mentioned they’ve had a lot of pop-focused Korean music groups on the show before and asked DAY6 to describe their sound. Young K said, “Actually, we are a band, we all play instruments. We have a lot of vocalists and all the vocalists come together and get mixed up, and that becomes DAY6’s color.”

This isn’t the band’s first time taking to the stage in New York, and Jae explained that they’d first come to New York to perform at KCON in Newark. “We had a blast there and then thankfully we were invited again the next year to have our own concert,” said Jae.

When asked to talk about their new world tour “Gravity,” Jae said, “The ‘Gravity’ tour this time is essentially us coming back and trying to give back to our fans who’ve been supporting us from so far away.”

He also shared that for their latest mini album “The Book of Us: Gravity,” their goal had been to focus on more concert-oriented music. “Therefore we’re trying to come back with that kind of music and see how it does in the concert field,” he said.

When asked to name their favorite song, Young K chose their latest title track, “Time of Our Life.” He described, “It’s about having that moment of just meeting up with each other and having the time of our life.”

After dancing along to their track with the hosts, the band members were asked if they write all their own songs. “We actually do write all of our own music since our debut until now,” answered Jae. “I think one of the main things, like we were saying before, is through every one of our songs we want to depict a specific emotion that you can feel throughout your lifetime. Basically our whole message is, our albums and our discography are the messages and the emotions that we feel through our lifetimes so that we can share those moments with you.”
