“New Journey To The West 7” Confirms Final Cast Lineup; Ahn Jae Hyun Reported To Potentially Return For Future Seasons

tvN’s “New Journey to the West” has confirmed its cast lineup for its upcoming seventh season!

On September 17, Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that according to an industry source, “New Journey to the West 7” had set its first filming date and finalized its cast lineup. The source stated, “tvN’s ‘New Journey to the West 7,’ which is returning after a year, will begin its first shoot on September 30,” adding, “Filming for the show will take place domestically, rather than abroad, and there will be four shoots within Korea. A total of six members will come together [this season]: Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun, Eun Ji Won, Song MinoP.O, and Kyuhyun, who recently returned from the military.”

The anonymous source also claimed that even though Ahn Jae Hyun had recently decided to turn down his offer to appear on “New Journey to the West 7,” he had not permanently left the show.

“Ahn Jae Hyun is temporarily stepping down from the program for this season,” said the source. “His departure is not permanent.”

Later that morning, tvN confirmed the reported cast lineup of Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun, SECHSKIES’s Eun Ji Won, WINNER’s Song Mino, Block B’s P.O, and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun. However, the broadcast network stated that it could not confirm details about the show’s filming schedule and locations due to safety concerns.

A representative of tvN explained, “In order to prevent spoilers about filming and to ensure safety during filming, we cannot comment on specific details about the show’s filming schedule and locations.”

“New Journey to the West 7” will reportedly premiere sometime in November.
