Red Velvet's Irene Is Finally On Instagram After An Unexpected Hurdle Due To Her Popularity

Red Velvet’s Irene has successfully joined Instagram!

On September 18, Irene became the fourth member of Red Velvet to open her own individual Instagram account. (In addition to Red Velvet’s official group account, members Joy, Yeri, and Seulgi each have their own individual accounts as well.)

For her very first post, Irene greeted her fans with a cute video of what appears to be her shadow skipping along a dirt road, and soon afterwards, “Irene” began trending worldwide on Twitter.

However, shortly after she launched the account, it was temporarily deactivated—most likely due to a flood of users following the new account at the same time. (Seulgi faced a similar situation back in June when she opened her own individual account.)

Fortunately, as of September 21 KST, Irene’s Instagram account is back up and running! Check out her first post below:
