“Voice Korea” Contestant And Singer Woo Hye Mi Passes Away
Singer Woo Hye Mi has passed away.
On September 22, it was reported that Woo Hye Mi’s acquaintances were unable to reach her from two days ago. By the time police arrived at her home in Mapo during the night of September 21, Woo Hye Mi had already passed away. The exact cause of her death is not yet known.
A source from her agency Downtown E&M stated, “We are in shock that Woo Hye Mi is no longer with us,” and “Yesterday, she did not attend the meeting for her new single’s music video, and so we tried to contact her, but she didn’t respond to our attempts.”
Woo Hye Mi first got her name out in 2012 when she appeared on Mnet’s “Voice Korea.” She reached the top four with her unique vocal techniques and powerful voice. Woo Hye Mi has promoted under the stage name MIWOO and she recently released her first EP album on August 19, 2019, which she composed, wrote lyrics for, and produced. She was 31 years old (by Korean reckoning) when she passed away.
Her funeral parlor has been set up at the Seoul Sacred Heart Hospital.
We send our deepest condolences to Woo Hye Mi’s loved ones.
