Lee Dong Gook and his family made a memorable final appearance on KBS’s “The Return of Superman”!
The October 6 broadcast of the program showcased the family’s vacation to Jeju Island. Lee Dong Gook and his son Si An took on the challenge of parasailing. While on the boat, Si An started to have second thoughts, saying, “I’m scared. I don’t want to do this.” However, Lee Dong Gook gave him courage by reminding Si An how he would always yell, “I can do it!” since he was young.
When it was time to take off, Si An was still a bit nervous, but once the pair were up in the air, he said, “After riding this, it’s not scary at all.” Lee Dong Gook summed up the experience with an inspiring and heartfelt message. He declared, “There’s nothing you can’t do, Si An. I’ll always be looking after you from behind.”
On the last night of their trip, Lee Dong Gook and Si An went out to eat cutlass fish. Their suspicions were raised when the owner of the restaurant suggested they try their new black pork tangerine stir-fry, but it turned out to be Lee Dong Gook’s four daughters preparing the meal. The family held a successful surprise party, complete with a bouquet of flowers and a cake that had “1534” written on the top, symbolizing the number of days they had been on the show.
Lee Dong Gook closed out the episode with his final greeting thanking viewers for giving love to his five children.
