Jang Dong Yoon Protects Kim So Hyun During Tense Crisis In "The Tale Of Nokdu"

In new stills for “The Tale of Nokdu,” the lead characters find themselves in a stressful situation.

“The Tale of Nokdu” is about a man named Jeon Nok Du (played by Jang Dong Yoon), who disguises himself as a woman to enter a mysterious all-female community in the hope of discovering the truth. There, he meets Dong Dong Joo (played by Kim So Hyun), a gisaeng-in-training who wants to be anything but a gisaeng (female courtesan), and they become roommates.

In the latest episodes of the show, Nok Du and Dong Joo excited viewers with their hints at romance—which everyone sees except for the two characters themselves. In addition, it was discovered that Yul Moo (Kang Tae Oh) used to be Dong Joo’s betrothed, beginning an interesting love triangle between the trio. On top of this, Nok Du set out on a mission to steal an elephant figure because of a promise to the Muweol Corps, and he and Dong Joo ended up physically close as they scrambled to make sure his real identity wasn’t exposed during a sudden crisis.

In the new stills, Nok Du, who’d been dressed as a soldier, is now once again dressed as a widow. Both Nok Du and Dong Joo look very nervous as they run into Park Dae Gam (played by Park Chul Min), and Nok Du makes viewers’ hearts race by protecting Dong Joo in front of the sword-wielding soldiers. Considering this tense situation and the shocked looks on their faces, many fans are wondering if Nok Du’s mission to steal the elephant will end in success.

A member of the production staff stated, “Nok Du and Dong Joo’s relationship becomes deeper in the midst of continuing crisis, from the close-call of the elephant stealing mission to the love triangle with Yul Moo. As they start to have feelings for each other, their extraordinary romance will be kicked up a notch.”
