Individual Under Investigation As Source Of Leaked Information About Sulli’s Passing
An individual has turned themselves in for leaking information regarding Sulli’s passing.
On October 17, the Gyeonggi Disaster and Safety Headquarters held a press conference and officially apologized for the leak of a report related to Sulli’s passing on October 14. A report that included details such as the time and location of her passing was leaked onto social media, subsequently being shared on portal sites and blogs.
It is now being reported that the person who first leaked the report to a fellow firefighter has been identified. The Gyeonggi Disaster and Safety Headquarters explained that this individual then shared the report in a group chatroom with other firefighters. It was through this group chatroom that the report was leaked to the public, but it is still unknown who took the report out of the chatroom and posted it on social media.
A source from the department explained that they had confirmed that the leak was coming from someone working in the fire department and sent a text message to all employees stating, “If you turn yourself in by midnight on October 17, you will be treated leniently.” As a result, one person turned themselves in as the person who first leaked the report and is currently under investigation, with serious measures to be taken according to the related regulations.
