Popular Webtoon “Deceased’s Soul” To Be Adapted Into Drama
Popular long-running Naver Webtoon “Deceased’s Soul,” which is written by Jo Joo Hee and illustrated by Yeo No, will be adapted into a drama. Jaedam Media confirmed that they recently signed a contract with production company Studio N for the drama adaption of the webtoon.
Webtoon “Deceased’s Soul” tells the story of two childhood friends, a son of a hospital director and a daughter of a funeral hall director. One tries to revive the soul of the deceased, while the other leads the deceased’s soul to the afterlife. The webtoon has become a hot topic as it depicts the genre of mystery and fantasy while referring to themes of life and death as well as this world and the afterlife. Soon after being uploaded in Korea, the webtoon was sold for publication in China. Studio N, a pioneer in adapting webtoons into dramas, and global content company Huayi Brothers Korea will be involved in the production of this drama adaptation.
Author Jo Joo Hee is also the original author of “Kitchen” and “Scholar Who Walks The Night.” Jo Joo Hee has won various awards and the author’s works have been recognized for their artistic value and popularity. Illustrator Yeo No (real name: Yeo Joo Hyun) worked on long-running webtoons such as “Amber,” “Howling,” and more.
