Lee Jae Wook Captures Hearts As Tsundere Second Lead In "Extraordinary You"

Lee Jae Wook is making viewers’ hearts ache with second lead syndrome as he creates tension in a love triangle with Kim Hye Yoon and SF9’s Rowoon in “Extraordinary You.”

In the drama, Lee Jae Wook plays Baek Kyung, a guy whom Eun Dan Oh (Kim Hye Yoon) has one-sidedly loved for 10 years. Due to their family connections, the two are even engaged. However, Baek Kyung has shown nothing but indifference toward Eun Dan Oh as a typical bad boy that Eun Dan Oh cannot help but love.

However, things start to turn around as Eun Dan Oh realizes she is a character in a manhwa (Korean comic) and starts to pay attention to another character named Haru (Rowoon) after figuring out that he is the key to changing her destiny in the comic. Baek Kyung starts to notice a change in Eun Dan Oh’s attitude toward him and begins to open his heart.

When they are in the “stage,” where they are made to follow the manhwa writer’s stories, Baek Kyung is cold and nonchalant to Eun Dan Oh. However, when they are in the “shadow,” where they are allowed to have their own feelings, Baek Kyung regrets the way he acts towards Eun Dan Oh.

Last week’s episodes especially helped Baek Kyung gain support from viewers as he showed changes in his attitude after finding his true nature is different from the personality that was given by the writer. Baek Kyung even showed his determination to be the person who helps Eun Dan Oh change her destiny. Anticipation is high as to how Baek Kyung will proceed in helping Eun Dan Oh change her destiny, while figuring out his own destiny as well.

“Extraordinary You” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 8:55 p.m. KST.
