Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon shared details about her upcoming album in a fun “campfire” interview!

In a new clip posted on SMTOWN’s YouTube channel, the idol selected questions written on the backs of fire symbols to match her title track “Spark.”

She first introduced the album, remarking that it was an album with weight featuring songs about topics like hope and herself in a wide variety of styles. About the title track, she discussed how the lyrics express the process of a small spark becoming a large fire and explained that is a passionate and provocative song that gave her courage.

Taeyeon then picked the song “Gravity” as her favorite track from the album, which she revealed in advance at her concerts. She mentioned that the lyrics really touched her and that it is a song that she had treasured for awhile. As for her favorite lyrics, she selected lyrics from the song “Find Me,” which state, “Falling doesn’t mean anything to me anymore,” and can be interpreted in many ways.

Finally, Taeyeon shared behind stories about the process of making the album. She said, “Actually, I prepared for this album very quietly, so there aren’t any shocking stories. But through the long process of preparing, I developed a lot of affection for the album, and I feel like it’s more ‘me.'” She further humorously stated “I’m usually the type to share and explain things to my fans, but this time, I uploaded a photo of myself doing pilates with a fire emoticon, and it became a bit of a spoiler.”

Taeyeon’s album “Purpose” will be released on October 28 at 6 p.m. KST.
