Taeyeon Rises To No. 1 With "Spark"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2019, November Week 3
Taeyeon’s “Spark” moves up 10 spots to become our new No. 1 song this week! This song won on “Inkigayo,” “Music Bank,” and “Music Core” the previous week. “Spark” is Taeyeon’s second No. 1 hit on our chart this year after “Four Seasons” in the spring. Congratulations to Taeyeon!
The title track from Taeyeon’s second studio album “Purpose,” “Spark” is an alternative soul style song that highlights Taeyeon’s powerful vocals. The lyrics describe Taeyeon’s identity as an artist in comparison to a spark.
AKMU’s “How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I love,” which reigned for four consecutive weeks, moves down one spot to No. 2. Rounding out the top three is Song Ha Ye’s “Another Love,” which is up one spot to No. 3.
Two songs newly entered the top 10 this week. Moving up eight spots to No. 5 is IU’s “Love poem,” which is a pre-released track from IU’s upcoming mini album. IU wrote the poetic lyrics for this ballad to support loved ones who are going through hard times.
Moving up four spots to No. 10 is MC Mong’s “FAME,” one of the two title tracks from his eighth album “CHANNEL 8.” MC Mong composed the song together with producer Duble Sidekick and also co-wrote the lyrics, which reflect on the mistakes he made when he was young and famous. The song features “Miss Trot” winner Song Ga In and Chancellor.
