5 K-Pop Idols Who Featured In Heart-Fluttering Web Dramas

A lot of idols are getting their fair share of acting roles these days. While some of them are not yet officially full-time actors, seeing them in dramas, web dramas, or even specials is definitely exciting and makes viewers anticipate more of their work.

Here are some of the idols who have graced the small screen with their acting talent and captured people’s hearts in the process.

1. WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon in “We Broke Up”

This web drama is based on a webtoon of the same name starring Kang Seung Yoon as Ji Won Young, an aspiring musician, and his senior labelmate Sandara Park as No Woo Ri, his love interest. The story follows this couple’s relationship from the moment it blossoms until they part ways and how they ultimately deal with their new situation.

Seung Yoon proves to be a natural by portraying his character flawlessly, from showing his affectionate and charming side during romantic scenes to being playful and charismatic throughout the storyline as an indie band vocalist and friend. His amazing performance didn’t go unnoticed, as it landed him an award as Best Actor for his role by K-web Fest. One thing is sure, seeing Seung Yoon in this clip being considerate and sweet definitely makes hearts flutter!

2. NCT’s Jaemin in “How To Hate You”

In yet another webtoon-based adaptation, Jaemin plays Han Dae Kang, a freshman who makes acquaintances with Oh Mi Ri (played by Kim Ji In) during a group project and later becomes part of a classic love triangle which he decides to play in his favor.

Jaemin’s character has a seemingly cold personality, but deep down he is truly caring. Also, his good looks and charm do not go unnoticed. Throughout the special, you can see that he’s acting with ease and effortlessly switching from being indifferent to a total sweetheart, much to our delight. The idol may just have kickstarted a promising acting career with this role, and needless to say that his tsundere vibes make the romantic scenes even more heartwarming!

3-4. HOTSHOT’s Hojung and LABOUM’s ZN in “My Ghost Brother”

This rom-com web drama stars Hojung as Seunghyun, a man who does everything in his power to help his girlfriend Hyejin, played by ZN, to regain her lost memory. During his mission, he meets a ghost and the two start a quirky friendship.

Hojung’s character is kind, patient, and thoughtful when looking after his girlfriend, but once the ghost shows up, we’re in it for a ride of giggles and mischief. As for ZN, her character is delicate, calm, and simply captivating. She also graces us with a sudden character switch that highlights her amazing skills when it comes to encapsulating different emotions on the spot. Not to mention that the pair’s chemistry is so undeniable that it touches hearts and keeps viewers on their toes as they anxiously wait for the couple to reshare the memories they once had. This is Hojung’s first role while ZN is progressively building her acting career.

5. Golden Child’s Bomin in “A-TEEN 2”

In this web drama, Bomin joins the rich lineup of rookie actors and actresses with his lead role as Ryu Joo Ha, a transfer student who makes new friendships with his schoolmates and deals with his own life hurdles on the side.

Bomin’s character is mysterious and seems to keep to himself a lot, but that doesn’t stop him from becoming one of the popular students. One of his most important relationships at school is his romance with APRIL member Naeun’s character Kim Ha Na, where he shows off his swoony side. It goes without saying that these two served viewers lovey-dovey moments that undoubtedly melted hearts!
