Director Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” continues to make Korean film history abroad!

On December 9 local time, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the upcoming 2020 Golden Globe Awards. (The annual American award ceremony honors achievements in both film and television.)

“Parasite,” which became the first Korean film ever to win the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, snagged an unprecedented three nominations. The movie scored nominations for Best Director (Motion Picture), Best Screenplay (Motion Picture), and Best Foreign Language Film.

Bong Joon Ho, who directed the film, also shares screenwriting credits for the movie together with Han Jin Won.

The 2020 Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5 at 6 p.m. EST.
