FTISLAND's Minhwan and Yulhee Receive First Award As A Family

FTISLAND’s Minhwan and Yulhee received their first award as a family since their debut.

On KBS2’s “Mr. House Husband,” which aired on December 11, FTISLAND’s Minhwan and Yulhee were invited to the Consumer’s Day award ceremony with their son, Jae Yul.

On this day, as the family got ready for the award ceremony, Yulhee said, “Last year, Kim Seung Hyun’s family received the Variety Show Family of the Year award. It’s very meaningful that we are receiving it this year. It’s the first time I’m receiving an award. I’m nervous.” She added, “I’m worried because of my baby bump. What if I look fat?” Minhwan responded, “You’re having twins. It’s inevitable that your stomach will grow double the size. I’m worried you’ll have a hard time since you’re pregnant.”

Minhwan’s mother said, “It is a delight that out of all the families, your family was chosen.” To Minhwan, she added, “It’s your first time receiving an award solo. You always received awards with the other members so you never got to properly give an acceptance speech. I’ll look after Jjang [Jae Yul’s nickname] so go and do a terrific job.” After hearing this, Minhwan said, “That makes me nervous. Should I make Jjang do it?”

On the day of the award ceremony, top stars, such as actor Kwon Sang Woo and Rain, made an appearance. Minhwan and Yulhee went up the stage to receive the Variety Show Family of the Year award. Minhwan shared, “This year was eventful and difficult, but I think we were able to overcome the difficulties because so many people cheered us on and showered us with love. I would like to thank my wife.” Yulhee also thanked the “Mr. House Husband” production crew.

Minhwan’s mother proudly watched Yulhee and Minhwan from afar. She revealed, “If it wasn’t for Jjang, I would have cried. I am just as happy as when my grandson Jae Yul was born.” As she watched the couple go up the stage to make an acceptance speech, Minhwan’s mother said, “It was good that they decided to appear on ‘Mr. House Husband.’ We should continue to do it with gratitude.” Yulhee and Minhwan said, “We’re the only ones that went on the stage, but our whole family received it together.”

After the award ceremony, Kwon Sang Woo went up to Yulhee and Minhwan and said, “I’m enjoying the show. Good luck raising your children.”
