Watch: EXO’s Kai Travels Through His Past In Riveting “The Performers” Short Film By Vogue, GQ, And Gucci
The idol, who was chosen as the first Korean male global ambassador for Gucci Eyewear earlier this year, acts as himself in the short film “The Performers Act V.” The series sets out to discover the artistic motivations and inspirations of creative people including singers, actors, choreographers, playwrights, scientists, chefs, and more.
Kai’s film was directed by Lucy Luscombe, and it shows him traveling in time and place to uncover memories about his family and the origins of his love for dance and choreography. The time travel doesn’t go quite as expected, leading to a trippy experience as Kai attempts to navigate through a malfunctioning world, before he’s finally able to tell his story. Kai also gets the chance to showcase his famous dance talents within the film, including a moving scene in which he dances to pansori in a field where a man representing his late father is painting.
