“Parasite” Makes Oscars Shortlist For International Feature Film

“Parasite” has made the shortlist of nominees for International Feature Film in the 92nd Academy Awards!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences dropped its shortlists for nine categories on December 17 KST: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, and Visual Effects.

From each shortlist of 10, five final nominees will be announced on January 13, 2020 alongside the nominees for the remaining categories.

“Parasite,” which has become an international sensation, has made the shortlist for International Feature Film alongside Spain’s “Pain and Glory,” France’s “Les Misérables,” and more.

The song “A Glass of Soju” from “Parasite,” sung by actor Choi Woo Sik, has also made the shortlist for Music (Original Song). Other songs in the category include “Speechless” from “Aladdin,” “Into the Unknown” from “Frozen 2,” “Spirit” from “The Lion King,” “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from “Rocketman,” and more.

The 92nd Academy Awards will be held on February 9, 2020 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
