Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun Talks About Her Stage Name, Approaching 30, And More
Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun recently shot a pictorial for the January issue of fashion magazine Nylon.
In the accompanying interview, she was asked about promoting as an actress under her real name, Seo Joo Hyun. She replied, “I think the public is more familiar with the name Seohyun than Seo Joo Hyun. Both of them are me, so I decided not to think too hard about it and live as Seohyun.”
Seohyun, who was born in 1991, is turning 30 in Korean age next year. She said, “When I look back on my teens and twenties, I think, ‘I worked a lot and lived intensely.’ I think my thirties will be more relaxed than that. Anyway, life only goes in one direction.”
She was also asked if she ever thought about what it would be like working an ordinary job rather than being a celebrity. She answered, “I have the self-confidence to believe I’d do well even if I was dropped in the middle of a desert. I have a lot of self-confidence. I used to be tender and vulnerable, but now I’ve gained more confidence. There were times when I felt sorry for myself, but people get stronger through the things they experience. I have nothing to fear right now.”
Seohyun recently confirmed her next project to be the JTBC drama “Hello Dracula.”
