Busters’s Chaeyeon To Continue Her Position On EBS Children’s Program + Return Date Confirmed
Updated December 27 KST:
EBS has confirmed that the return date for their children’s program, “Tok! Tok! Boni Hani,” will be January 20, 2020.
Busters’s Chaeyeon will be continuing her position as a cast member on EBS’s “Tok! Tok! Boni Hani.”
On December 24, MoneyToday reported the words of a source from EBS, who stated, “We guaranteed Chaeyeon that she would return to the show when the show begins airing again.”
The source continued, “We made the choice to put the show on hiatus to reorganize the show to protect the health of our underage cast member, Chaeyeon. The new production staff are currently preparing for the show’s return. We are doing this not to cover up what happened, but to better protect our cast members.
“On the day of the incident, we removed Choi Young Soo and Park Dong Geun from the show and separated them from Chaeyeon. At Chaeyeon and her family’s request, we promised to support her with protective counseling programs.”
Earlier this month, the EBS children’s show came under fire after videos were shared online that appeared to show Busters’s Chaeyeon being hit by a fellow cast member and verbally harassed by another. EBS eventually suspended the two comedians from the show and temporarily halted production. Choi Young Soo and Chaeyeon have released statements denying that assault had occurred.
