MBC's "Section TV" To Go Off The Air After 20 Years

MBC has announced that its long-running entertainment news show “Section TV” will be going off the air.

On December 27, the broadcast network officially released the following statement:

MBC’s entertainment news program “Section TV” is coming to an end. We decided to bring the program to an end in order to keep up with changing trends in broadcasting. Thank you to all the viewers who have given [“Section TV”] so much love over the past 20 years.

“Section TV” first premiered on MBC nearly 20 years ago, in May 1999.

According to Korean news outlet Sports DongA, MBC is essentially cancelling the show, but there is a small possibility of the program returning after being reformatted.
