SBS producing director (PD) Lee Se Young has opened up about Shin Sung Rok’s addition to the cast of “Master in the House”!

On December 29, PD Lee Se Young stated, “Having just four members appear on a weekend variety show isn’t easy at all. Sang-Seung-Hyung-Jae [Lee Sang Yoon, Lee Seung Gi, Yang Se Hyung, and BTOB’s Yook Sungjae] have worked especially hard as a small cast. Because they worked so hard, we didn’t think about new members until Shin Sung Rok appeared on our show.”

When asked about Shin Sung Rok’s addition to the show, PD Lee Se Young responded, “When Shin Sung Rok first appeared on our show, he had great chemistry [with the others], and he was a fresh character. Most of all, it was great to see him working hard as a fellow member, instead of a guest.”

PD Lee Se Young later brought up Shin Sung Rok’s career as an actor, saying, “Shin Sung Rok is close with Lee Sang Yoon and Lee Seung Gi as they appeared in dramas together. He had a good memory of appearing on our show, so he told us for the first time that he really wanted to do it. I was so thankful.”

The PD also talked more in depth about Shin Sung Rok’s chemistry with his fellow “Master in the House” members. He explained, “We finished filming our first shoot together. He did well for his first shoot, as if he had been a fellow member for two years. That’s how great he was at adapting. You can definitely anticipate the year 2020.”

Previously on December 28, “Master in the House” won the award for Best Teamwork at the 2019 SBS Entertainment Awards. During the awards speech, Lee Seung Gi announced, “We’ve received the Best Teamwork Award and we’re grateful. To speak frankly, there is some good news. Next year another team member will be joining us. Please stay tuned to see who it is. We will greet viewers next year as Shin-Sang-Seung-Hyung-Jae.”

“Master in the House” airs on Sundays at 6:25 p.m. KST.
