Kim Bo Ra Shares How She Prepared For Role As Idol Trainee In New Drama "Touch"
Kim Bo Ra talked about starring in “Touch” as a former idol trainee!
In the new Channel A drama, Kim Bo Ra plays a young woman named Han Soo Yeon who trained to be an idol for 10 years. After deciding to give up on that dream after she doesn’t make the cut on a survival show, her character is now aiming to be a makeup artist. She ends up becoming an assistant to a popular makeup artist named Cha Jung Hyuk (played by Joo Sang Wook) who recently found himself unemployed and in debt.
At a press conference for the show on January 3, Kim Bo Ra was asked if there were any girl groups she used as a reference while getting ready for her role.
“I dance to a MOMOLAND song in the drama, so I watched MOMOLAND videos a lot as a reference,” she said. She added with a laugh, “I was really not as good at dancing as I thought I’d be.”
“So I thought that I should at least look confident, so I tried to imitate idols’ expressions that make them look relaxed,” she explained.
The actress also talked about her character. “I think I’ll be able to show you a character who’s bouncy and overflowing with energy,” she said.
On the topic of how similar she is to her character, Kim Bo Ra said, “If I were to compare my real self and Han Soo Yeon, I think we’re really half and half.” She added, “I think our biggest similarity is that we say what we really want to say.”
“Touch” premiered on January 3.
