Red Velvet’s Joy On How She Relieves Stress, Reveals Her Hopes For 2020
During the episode, Joy shared that she has a lot of interest in “inner beauty,” adding that she enjoys taking care of her body with flying yoga and noni juice. She also peaked the interest of Yoo Jae Suk and Jun Hyun Moo when she revealed, “Noni juice is good for males going through andropause.”
The star additionally discussed her recent diagnosis with somatization disorder, which is characterized by an extreme focus on physical symptoms, such as pain or fatigue, causing emotional distress and difficulty functioning. Joy explained, “I am frequently drawn to healthy foods because my body is so sensitive. Once, my chest felt so tight and heavy that I visited the clinic where I learned that the root of all my pain was the disorder.” When asked how she relieves her stress and anger, she answered, “I look at pictures of my dog. At the clinic, they told me to take deep breaths.”
Veteran actress Bae Jong Ok expressed her sympathy for Joy, sharing, “Since idols these days live in isolation behind their glamorous images, I think it makes sense for stress to pile up.”
Later, all the guests discussed their hopes and desires for the new year. Joy shared, “My member Wendy is hurt, so I hope she recovers quickly and that we can do a concert tour this year. Rather than have big, ambitious dreams, I want to become a person who takes good care of the people around her and does not miss out on the little things that constitute happiness.”
