DAY6’s “You Were Beautiful” Suddenly Soars On Realtime Charts Almost 3 Years Since Release
DAY6’s “You Were Beautiful” has seen a big resurgence on music charts, over 1,000 days since it came out!
The song was released on February 6, 2017 as the title track of the band’s February single for their yearlong “Every DAY6” project.
Suddenly on January 14 at 1 a.m. KST, “You Were Beautiful” re-entered the realtime chart of Korea’s largest music platform Melon, taking the No. 52 spot, which is the highest the song has ever reached on the rankings.
Jae posted on Twitter with a screenshot and wrote, “Wild” with a crying emoji.

He also thanked everyone in Korean and English on his Instagram stories with a screenshot of “You Were Beautiful” at No. 11 on the realtime chart of Bugs.
Young K, who wrote the lyrics for the track and co-composed it along with Wonpil and more, posted a screenshot of the Melon chart ranking on his Instagram stories. He wrote on it, “What’s happening?!?! Thank you so much, everyone.”
While the reason for this sudden rise of “You Were Beautiful” isn’t confirmed, outlet TopStarNews reports that it’s because of a popular post on an online community asking for people to share tracks that should see a sudden rise on the charts, instead of the songs that are suspected of chart manipulation.
Many commenters recommended DAY6’s “You Were Beautiful,” which is said to have led people to try to get the song on the charts. They first succeeded on Bugs (at No. 11) and Genie (at No. 25), and the track then made its return to the largest site Melon at No. 52.
Congratulations to DAY6!
