US-based company Kapital Entertainment announced on January 30 that “Memory” will be getting a remake for broadcast in the United States and will air on the cable network Showtime. The drama will be produced by Aaron Kaplan of ABC’s “The Neighbors” and Showtime’s “The Chi,” and will be written by Michael Saltzman, the writer behind Amazon Prime’s “Sneaky Pete” and “The Boys.”

Aaron Kaplan said of the remake, “Because I’ve family members that have suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, I have personal experience that makes this drama’s story that much more meaningful.”

Park Hyun of Studio Dragon, the original production company behind “Memory,” said, “‘Memory’ is a drama about finding hope in despair, and the emotional story follows the main character as he picks his way through a broken life, realizing the precious value of the love of family. I hope that the US remake is able to accurately portray that meaning and emotional depth of the original work, and I hope it’ll turn out to be a good drama.”
