Big Hit Announces Exciting BTS-Related Content, TXT World Tour, And More

On February 4, Big Hit Entertainment held a corporate briefing and announced their plans for 2020.

Co-CEO Lenzo Yoon discussed Big Hit’s “winning formula,” stating that fans are at the core of it. He explained that fans are at the center of the music industry and are the core value of Big Hit’s business. Thus, Big Hit’s plans for 2020 will focus on innovation of the fan experience by providing more enjoyable experiences, reducing inconveniences, and showcasing the best content.

Specifically, the company will expand the “play zone” that had been available at Korean concert venues to world tour venues, and a “tour village” will be set up in cities where the tour will be stopping. Big Hit revealed that they it will be made possible for fans to stay at BTS-themed hotels, visit pop-up stores and exhibitions, purchase limited-edition beverages at F&B stores, and link the concert to local tour packages.

To lessen the discomfort experienced by fans overseas, Big Hit will establish delivery systems in the United States and Japan so that merchandise can be sold in those countries in the same way that they are sold in Korea. Moreover, they will collaborate with stage design team STUFISH, who previously worked with Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and U2, to provide fans with an excellent experience at BTS’s world tour.

Lenzo Yoon shared, “Based on our various attempts and experiences and cases of success, we will take a modular approach to our business model to go beyond the Big Hit labels and collaborate with even more artists in Korea and abroad. As the first example of this, Pledis Entertainment’s group SEVENTEEN is joining WeVerse.”

Co-CEO Bang Shi Hyuk revealed Big Hit’s various plans for business expansion. First, he announced the launch of a BTS-themed drama, “graphic lyrics,” and new character items. Also revealed was a Korean-learning program called “Learn Korean with BTS” that incorporates BTS content, which will be launched in March. Superb, a music game company acquired by Big Hit last year, has a game utilizing BTS characters in the works.

Also announced at the briefing were plans for TXT’s first world tour and plans to launch new groups.
