TWICE’s Tzuyu, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, And More Donate To Support Fight Against Coronavirus

Celebrities are continuing to show their support for South Korea’s efforts to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

On February 28, JYP Entertainment donated 500 million won (approximately $416,557) to the Community Chest of Korea. The company’s donation will be used to purchase medical supplies like anti-contamination suits and masks, in addition to providing low-income families with personal sanitation items.

Song Eun Yi donated 10 million won (approximately $8,331) to The Beautiful Foundation to be used as an emergency fund for self-employed single mothers in the city of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province.

Super Junior’s Eunhyuk gave 100 million won (approximately $83,331) to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association.

Model Han Hye Jin donated 10 million won to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association.

Chef Lee Yeon Bok gave 20 million won (approximately $16,662) to the Community Chest of Korea.

Simon Dominic gave 50 million won (approximately $41,656) to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association under his real name, Jung Ki Suk.

TWICE’s Tzuyu donated 50 million won to the Community Chest of Korea and remarked, “I hope everyone will be healthy.”

Hwang Chi Yeol gave 50 million won to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association. His donation will be used for the purchase of items necessary for the prevention of COVID-19 and providing medical support.

Kim Jaejoong donated 30 million won (approximately $24,993) to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association. The singer did not want news of his donation to be made public, but the organization persuaded him by insisting that the news of his consistent donations up until now would give comfort and hope to those in pain.

Additionally, on February 26, trot singer Song Ga In released a remake of Lee Hwa Ja’s “Spring Fever of Flowers and Willows” (literal title), a song that became popular during the “Miss Trot” tour. Song Ga In announced that she would be donating all profits from the song, which is estimated to be around 100 million won, to COVID-19 prevention efforts. In addition, Song Ga In’s fan café AGAIN donated 32.44 million won (approximately $27,026) to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea.
