Yoo Yeon Seok In Talks To Star In Korean-French Film

Yoo Yeon Seok may be starring in the upcoming Korean-French film “Matin Calme” (Calm Morning)!

On March 3, Star News reported that Yoo Yeon Seok would be starring in the film “Matin Calme.” Following reports, Yoo Yeon Seok’s agency King Kong by Starship clarified, “Yoo Yeon Seok has received the offer to star in ‘Matin Calme,’ and he is positively reviewing the offer.”

In 2018, it was reported that Kang Dong Won had been cast in the film after discussing his role with its producers at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival in France. However, although the production team had visited Korea multiple times to discuss casting and filming, conditions did not work out and production was pushed back. As filming for Kang Dong Won’s Hollywood film “Tsunami LA” kept getting delayed, Kang Dong Won eventually stepped down from “Matin Calme.

Directed by Denis Dercourt of “The Page Turner,” “Matin Calme” will follow the story of a medical examiner and a Korean detective who join forces to investigate the origins of a mysterious dead body and stumble upon something far more disturbing in the process.

If Yoo Yeon Seok accepts the offer, he will be starring alongside Olga Kurylenko who starred in numerous films including “007: Quantum of Solace,” “Max Payne,” “Centurion,” “Oblivion,” and “A Perfect Day.”

The production team of “Matin Calme” will reportedly arrive in Korea late this month and begin filming in April. However, due to concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the filming schedule has not yet been set in stone.

Currently, Yoo Yeon Seok is also in talks to star in the film “Puppy” (working title) with Cha Tae Hyun, and he is filming for tvN’s upcoming drama “Hospital Playlist,” which will premiere on March 12. Watch a teaser for the drama here!
