Watch: The Struggle Is Real For The Cast of “Kingdom” In Main Teaser For Season 2
Prepare yourselves for a Joseon-style bloodbath–“Kingdom” has released its main teaser trailer for the second season on Netflix!
“Kingdom” is a zombie sageuk that takes place during the Joseon dynasty. The story follows the bloody struggle of crown prince Lee Chang (Joo Ji Hoon), who finds himself unable to trust anyone amidst the growing greed of his family for the throne.
The new teaser highlights all of the main characters’ individual goals, all the while amping up the tension of the zombie plague. Most prominent, of course, is the struggle of Lee Chang, who aims to reclaim his throne and put an end to the plague once and for all. We see him proclaim in the dark of night before a group of gathered men, “I will reclaim my rightful place. Are you with me?” Later in in the trailer we see him storm the palace and demand the sitting queen (Kim Hye Joon) to step down from the throne. She merely smirks at him.
We also see the medical assistant Seo Bi (Bae Doona) working by candlelight with a number of herbs. She says, “No matter how gruesome the disease, there is always a way to treat it.”
Meanwhile, the greedy minister and father to the queen, Jo Hak Joo (Ryu Seung Ryong) lament, “This is not the nation I intended to create.”
