Watch: Innocent Love Turns Into Heartbreaking Reality In "When My Love Blooms" Highlight Reel

Upcoming tvN drama “When My Love Blooms” has released a highlight video ahead of its premiere date!

“When My Love Blooms” is about the love story between Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Soo, who were each other’s first loves in college and reunite many years later. GOT7’s Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee play the characters during their college years, while Yoo Ji Tae and Lee Bo Young play their older selves.

The clip begins with Han Jae Hyun coming out of prison. As he is surrounded by reporters, his voiceover says, “The things that I believed were right… no longer exist in this world.” Yoon Ji Soo, who secretly kept her eyes on him, reminisces about the past when they were innocent lovers who weren’t separated by harsh reality.

The video goes back to the 1990s when Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Soo were college students. Yoon Ji Soo boldly suggests they date, and Han Jae Hyun watches her in surprise as she waves from the bus. Yoon Ji Soo’s voice from the present softly says, “You used to be on my side… and you used to be my everything.”

In the present, Han Jae Hyun seems to not have forgotten Yoon Ji Soo either. Although he is now a man full of ambition, the sight of Yoon Ji Soo makes him  break down and remember the righteous person he used to be. His voiceover says, “No matter where I looked, I couldn’t find you. I still don’t understand why you left that day.”

One day, Han Jae Hyun faces a dilemma when Yoon Ji Soo’s son gets involved in an act of school violence. He tries to protect her son, but the people around him point out it’s not like him to get so defensive about others when he’s the best at getting rid of them for no reason.

The closer Han Jae Hyun gets closer to Yoon Ji Soo, the further she pushes him away. She says, “I think we’re regretful and longing because we didn’t properly break up back then. I really hope we can end things now.” In response, he states, “It’s not because of guilt, regret, or hope. I just want to protect you like you protected me.”

“When My Love Blooms” premieres on April 25 at 9 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki!
