Kang Daniel Meets Baby Who Received Cochlear Implant From His Donation

Kang Daniel was able to meet a baby who got a cochlear implant thanks to a generous donation by him and his fans!

In December of last year, Kang Daniel donated 30 million won (approximately $25,800) under the name of his fandom DANITY to the social welfare organization Snail of Love for the hearing impaired. In addition, his fans donated 99 million won (approximately $81,070).

On April 20, Snails of Love announced that Kang Daniel visited the headquarters on April 17 and met a two-year-old (by Korean reckoning) child Kim Ji Yeon (a pseudonym) who underwent artificial cochlear surgery last month. She is the first child to undergo artificial cochlear surgery with the donation from Kang Daniel and his fans.

Kim Ji Yeon, who was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit as soon as she was born, was diagnosed with hearing loss and recommended to have an artificial cochlear implant surgery. Her parents had difficulty raising operating expenses due to financial difficulties, and they learned about Snails of Love through consultation with the hospital’s public medical business group.

Kang Daniel shared, “I hope Ji Yeon will grow up healthy as a bright child who will be able to listen to sounds.” He gifted her with his album “CYAN,” a toy that makes various sounds, and summer clothing.

Snails of Love thanked Kang Daniel and DANITY as they shared photos of his visit to their headquarters via their official Twitter account.
