GOT7 Picks Who Fits Comeback Concept Best, Uses Clever Way To Make Fans Feel Included At Showcase Despite Social Distancing, And More

GOT7 has made their return!

On April 20, GOT7 held their “DYE” Live Premiere broadcast on Naver’s V Live to celebrate the release of their new mini album that day.

The event was hosted by Go Young Bae who explained that fans could not attend the premiere due to social distancing. However, to feel as if GOT7 was with their fans, they had labeled seats in the audience with names of their fans. As each member introduced themselves, they lovingly called out a fan’s name.

With regards to their first comeback in seven months, Jinyoung shared, “It’s a different feeling from last time. Since it’s a new side of us, I wanted to quickly show our fans. I hope that the seven months they spent waiting for us does not go to waste and that they are happy.” Mark added, “It didn’t feel real but I got more excited as our teasers were released and I could see the reactions of our fans.”

To dive deeper into their album and title track, the group explored various hashtags. The first hashtag was “Color Me,” and Jinyoung explained, “‘DYE’ means to color me. Although it might sound negative when you hear it, the spelling is different. It portrays our hopes that our music will seep through and color many people.”

JB continued, “The meaning of our album’s composition is deep. In general, it has a good flow and story. When you listen to it, it will feel like a novel. It is an album that captures GOT7’s color very well.

Since this album marks a significantly new side to GOT7, they were asked what they placed the most emphasis on. Jinyoung answered, “We attempted a classic and romantic style. Although I was a little embarrassed while preparing, it was also fun. I hope our fans are able to feel that fun as well.”

Regarding their title track “NOT BY THE MOON,” the boys shared, “Since the moon is always changing, this song means not to swear our love on the ever-changing moon.”

When asked what the highlight of the song is, Yugyeom picked the hook and the rap, saying, “If you focus on the sad aspects of the song, it will be easier to immerse yourself into it. It’s even better if you draw your curtains and turn out the light. At least our house is like that.”

The next hashtag was “Don’t swear your love on the moon.” Regarding their outfits, Jinyoung shared, “We used a lot of classic and antique props. We tried to portray the main characters of a classical film.”

When asked who best fit this noble and prestigious concept, Jinyoung answered, “Yugyeom and BamBam. When doing their individual photo shoots, their individually colorful concepts fit well with the theme. Even I got butterflies looking at their makeup.” Youngjae expressed admiration for Mark, saying, “There’s nothing that does not suit him. Whatever it is, it fits him perfectly.”

GOT7 also explained their music video. Their director shared, “Throughout the video, they desperately work to find ‘forever’ in the ever-changing moon in order to create a happy ending. It’s the heart that desires a never-ending love. I support this never-ending love between GOT7 and their fans.”

The final hashtag was “Kiss.” The group picked their “Kiss dance” and “Moon dance” as the highlights of their choreography. They explained, “Since our debut, we’ve received attention for our performances. Our choreography has gotten even more difficult than last time. There are a lot of movements where we have to feel the groove.”
