APRIL Says They Want To Be Known As

On April 22, APRIL gave an interview about their recent comeback through a press release sent out by their agency, DSP Media.

At 6 p.m. KST on the same day, APRIL released their seventh mini album “Da Capo” and title track “LALALILALA.” This is their first domestic comeback since releasing the EP “The Ruby” in October 2018.

Chaekyung said, “We put a lot of effort into making an album and title track that both Fineapples [fandom name] and the members could be satisfied with. Including the b-sides, we worked to express APRIL’s diverse colors and appeals.”

About making a comeback during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chaewon said, “It would be a lie to say we didn’t have concerns about it. We wanted to show our fans something new because it had been a while since our last comeback and we missed them.”

Naeun explained their title track, “LALALILALA,” by saying, “You can interpret ‘I want you to dream of me’ in a lot of different ways, not just about love. The song contains a ‘killing part’ from each of the members, so please look out for those.”

Yena added, “Our performance has become more flamboyant and powerful overall” and Rachel added, “Our choreography is a completely different style from what we’ve done before.”

Jinsol continued, “We all gave our opinions freely about the album concept. We prepared with the idea of doing something very different from what APRIL has shown before, and I’m proud that the results came out well.”

APRIL then named their goal as being called something like “concept masters.” Chaewon said, “We tried a lot of different concepts until now, but when you think of APRIL, you think of the ‘cute and innocent’ image first. We tried something a little more mature and dreamlike this time, and I hope we can pull it off well so that people will praise us and say ‘APRIL are concept masters who can do any concept well.'”
