YG Entertainment Releases Statement Regarding Threats Made Against BLACKPINK's Lisa

YG Entertainment has released a statement acknowledging dangerous threats made against BLACKPINK’s Lisa and has vowed to stay vigilant on the issue.

On May 7, the Thailand Embassy in Korea took to their Twitter account to state, “From May 2 to 6, we have received many e-mails and Direct Messages (DMs) regarding the threats made online against Lisa’s life. We have notified her agency YG Entertainment.”

On May 8, Yonhap News shared that through correspondence by phone and e-mail, the embassy confirmed that the information that was shared on their Twitter account was true, and they had indeed passed along all information they had received to YG Entertainment. The embassy explained that they had stepped in to offer assistance as Lisa is a Thai national working in Korea.

Regarding this issue, YG Entertainment stated, “At YG Entertainment, we are doing our best for the safety and protection of our artists and fans,” and “We are aware of this current situation, and not only are we doing our own constant monitoring, but we are also collecting and going through information sent to us by fans. We will be taking strong action against these threats.”

BLACKPINK is currently gearing up for their June comeback.
