Watch: IU Celebrates Birthday With Meaningful Donation And Acoustic Version Of "eight"

IU is celebrating her birthday this year in a special way!

Her agency EDAM Entertainment took to their Instagram account on May 16 to share two donation certificates with the caption, “May 16, in celebration of IU’s birthday, IU and UAENA [IU’s official fan club name] have shared warmth with the world. They say that due to how things are in society right now, the amount of help being given to those in need has reduced. Just like how IU and UAENA is mean to represent two entities who share the same heart, even when far apart. Let’s keep doing good things together. Have a happy day today.”

51.6 million won (approximately $41,840) was donated to both ChildFund Korea and Walking With Us Children’s Foundation under the name “IUAENA,” a combination of IU and UAENA.

IU also shared an acoustic version of “eight,” which originally featured BTS‘s Suga!

Through her official Twitter, the singer announced she was revealing an acoustic version of the song to celebrate her birthday as well as the achievement of reaching 3 million subscribers on YouTube.
