Shin Se Kyung To Narrate Documentary About Everyday Life Of Koreans During COVID-19

Shin Se Kyung will be lending her voice to a new documentary.

On May 18, details were reported about MBC’s upcoming campaign for COVID-19 recovery and rehabilitation called “We Believe — Hidden Feelings” (literal title).

“We Believe” contains a hopeful message about starting a new everyday life led by Korea’s courageous and resilient overcoming of the national crisis as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through her narration, Shin Se Kyung will introduce the lives of various Korean citizens as they fill their everyday lives with work and family while following order and rules amidst chaos and insecurity. She said, “Thanks to us, coming together in our own ways, Korea was able to overcome and move towards a new tomorrow. Although the crisis is not yet over, we believe in our strength.”

About participating in the campaign as a narrator, the actress said, “I wanted to cheer on all of us who are following new rules amidst the coronavirus outbreak that has become our everyday life.” Shin Se Kyung has shown good examples of social distancing by wearing a mask and staying at home with her dog in social media posts and vlogs.

Narrated by Park Hae Jin, the first documentary of this series expressed gratitude towards frontline workers including doctors, nurses, firefighters, and police officers.

MBC plans to release various programs with hopeful and supportive messages for COVID-19 recovery efforts. One of them includes the four-episode special documentary “Pandemic” and a special live broadcast of “We Believe — We Are the Hope” (tentative title).

“Pandemic” airs on May 21 at 10:05 p.m. KST with the first episode chronicling the struggles of medical personnel in the ICU, the mass infection in Daegu, patients in their final moments, and the birth of a baby from an infected mother. The second episode will air on May 28, and the third and fourth episodes are scheduled to air in October. “We Believe — We Are the Hope” also airs on May 27 at 5:30 p.m. KST.
